Sustainability and CSR @ Thinqloud
Thinqloud as a company and the directors of the company, in their individual capacity, are contributing towards Sustainability and have been regularly carrying out activities under Corporate Social Responsibility. We would like to share this with the organization and to encourage all our colleagues to do their bit as part of their way of giving back to society.
Here are a few initiatives and activities that Thinqloud has been performing:
Donating PCs: over the past few years we have been donating PCs to NGOs and schools. Every year we donate 5-10 PCs/Laptops. The recent commitment is to donate 10 PCs to Sanmati Vidhyalay, a school with majority students from nearby villages and specially helping the underprivileged. .
Saplings and seeds distribution: we have done it twice over the last 6 years wherein once we distributed seeds to all employees and once tree saplings. We had about 150 employees then. We chose local varieties of trees.
You all must be aware that we have been supporting two NGOs, Parivartan – Dedicated to mental health (http://www.parivartan.org.in) and Cope With Cancer – Cancer care (https://www.copewithcancer.org ), since four years. Developing their websites and maintaining their Salesforce orgs has been an ongoing commitment.
There are other examples including participation in cycle rallies or marathons pledging the sum raised for an NGO focusing on social and environmental uplifting.
Another initiative is interesting: one of the directors arranged collection of recycled newspapers by an NGO for raising ongoing funds on monthly basis. The NGO takes full responsibility for housing and educating unattended and needy children. The initiative is almost 5 years old and is supported by all the families in the society.
With the hope that these stories will inspire you, I would also like to share examples shared by few of the employees.
- Here is what Abhijit Roy has been doing, “ I have been donating my school , Engineering & various magazines to a library named Shyama Prasad Mukherjee library in Chandrapur for quite some time. I have conducted free tuition classes for Maths, Science and English for the children of labourers who used to work in my Father’s construction business, for around 6 years.”
- During the COVID-19 pandemic when movement was restricted and social distancing was enforced, Sagar Gaidhani and his friend took the initiative to tutor 10th and 12th-grade students who couldn’t afford expensive coaching classes.
- Ruchi Agrawal is donating every month to Give India for a program supporting the orphanages. Her daughter Pihu and husband Shailesh are associated with ‘Upay’ and they were teaching kids near Kothrud area.
We would like to encourage your participation in initiatives such as water conservation, forestation, etc. we are associated with very active and knowledgeable dignitaries and organizations in this area of work.
Also do share about your contributions as an what you do – we would like to share your stories during the monthly employee engagement activities or monthly updates.
