Intelligent Semantic Search is an AI-powered solution built on native Salesforce infrastructure and a vector embedding service. The automated indexing pipeline runs end-to-end in the background — generating and maintaining a high-dimensional semantic embedding for every Account record as it is created or updated — so that every search query returns intent-aware, ranked results in seconds rather than exact-match keyword hits.

Each capability is delivered through Salesforce technologies as follows:

• Automatic Embedding Generation & Index Maintenance: An Apex trigger fires on every Account create or update, detects whether semantically relevant fields have changed, and sends the record's content to an external embedding service via Salesforce Named Credentials. The resulting vector is stored against the Account record, keeping the semantic index consistently current with live Salesforce data at all times — with no manual intervention required.
• Natural Language Query Understanding: When a user submits a search query, an Apex service passes it to the AI layer, which interprets intent, resolves synonyms, near-spellings, abbreviations, and descriptive phrases, and returns a semantic similarity ranking across the full Account index — so searches like “high-risk renewal accounts in finance” return relevant results without requiring exact field values or record names.
• Hybrid Semantic & Structured Filter Extraction: The AI layer automatically extracts structured filters — industry, city, state, priority, account type, and annual revenue — directly from the natural language query and applies them alongside semantic similarity in a single retrieval pass. No dropdowns or form fields are required; filter conditions including numeric comparisons are resolved from the query text itself.
• Ranked Results with Deep Links: Results are returned ranked by semantic relevance, not alphabetically, and surfaced in a Lightning Web Component tab embedded directly in the Sales app. Each result displays account name, priority, city, phone, industry, revenue, and description, with a direct deep link to the matching Account record — no external application or context switch required.
• Named Credentials & Secure AI Integration: All calls to the external embedding and query services are authenticated through Salesforce Named Credentials, with no API key held in code. Processing runs asynchronously per record so one failed embedding never blocks others, and unrelated field changes are filtered before any external call is made to avoid unnecessary processing or cost.

Architecture principle: Deterministic Apex triggers and field-change detection guarantee consistent, efficient index maintenance for every Account record; the external AI embedding and query service handles semantic understanding, intent extraction, and similarity ranking; and the native Lightning Web Component surface makes the capability immediately accessible to every representative within the Salesforce environment they already use — with no additional licensing, no external application, and no manual steps required.
